Dental. Mental. One letter difference. Coincidence? I think not.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"like jewels on a crown, the precious stones glittered in the Queen's round metal hat"
-jack handy

I had to get a crown today. No. Not the good kind.

I had to get get the OLD LADY kind, in your mouth. The kind OLD PEOPLE have to get. When their teeth have rotted out. The kind that cost many many jewels in the form of credit card debt. The kind that are actually MORE expensive than a regular old british crown.

Now i have to "be careful" when eating stuff cuz pretty soon stuff like "OOH! I broke my crown" or "oh, i can't eat THAT! It'll loosen my crown!" will be coming out of my mouth, right along with "ooops, left my trifocals in my Premier Safety Tub!"

My mouth is still all numb and gross.

But hey! The shade is a lot whiter than my actual young-person-teeth. So, THIS is my new dazzling smile....

.....except only one lone WHITE molar. In the back. To the left. Like a ray of sunshine BEAMING right at ya.

I'm sure I'll dazzle you when I see you in person.

It's sad that for as much as we have to pay dentists...one could be on the beach for a week in Hawaii!

Did you get the crown before or after you visited the podiatrist?

Gotta love it when your mouth is numb for hours after you have something like that done. As if it isn't bad enough you got a crown, you drool and can't eat any solid foods for a few days!!

YOu are the best and? Gonna rock that crown!!
I ordered that book "Stumbling on Happiness" and can't wait to read it!
Oh? And I agree- Malcolm Gladwell is a genius. I've read almost everything he's written. He could write on a toilet seat and i'd read it.

Your new shoes might not be conducive to using a walker.

I'm pretty sure I single-handedly fund my dentist's annual vacation. But I refuse to give up my candy!

I feel your pain. I am a dentists dream come true. It's pathetic. And expensive. It's super fun when you get all the work done and paid for and then the tooth has to be pulled anyway. Or when the dentist doesn't put crowns on when he's done and then you're teeth break off. Obviously, I eat a lot of soft food now. But I'm clearly rocking the old lady bitterness.
